Jottacloud Review

Jottacloud Review

Jottacloud is a Norwegian cloud service that combines cloud backup and cloud storage. It has an attractive large storage capacity upgrade plan with an easy to use interface. However, it fails to provide the level of quality I search for in a cloud storage. I have found within this Jottacloud review that the sharing options are limited, there’s no client-side encryption and they have a strict policy that enables them to close accounts that pass beyond a certain storage capacity despite them advertising the Personal plan as “Unlimited”. The mobile application is also buggy as reported by many users. If you’re searching for a cloud storage that is reliable I would recommend you take a look at our Top 10 Cloud Storage Providers list.

SugarSync Review

SugarSync Review

SugarSync is a cloud service that focuses on making sure your files are synced across all your devices. It offers a decent syncing solution but fails to deliver in all the other areas. It’s far too expensive, provides limited sharing capabilities, doesn’t offer client-side encryption and just has an outdated slow interface. They also offer no permanent free program which means you’ll have to pay for it eventually. They might have been the cloud storage sync solution but I have come to the conclusion that they are that no-more during the course of this SugarSync review. That’s why I recommend you take a look at our Top 10 Cloud Storage Providers list and pick a better solution.

Sync.com Review

Sync.com Review

Sync is one of the cloud storages you should take into consideration if you’re searching for one. It prides itself by it’s “Zero-knowledge” easy to use and modern platform. They take good care of your privacy and ensure that your files are saved safely which is why I’ve decided to research them and write this Sync.com review. Apart from that they offer great syncing and sharing options which get even better if you decide to upgrade to the Pro version. Their prices and plans are very competitive, one of the best on the market. The support is also quite good with an excellent FAQ base and quick response team.

OpenDrive Review

OpenDrive Review

It could be decent cloud storage if only they kept working on it, but it almost seems like the development has halted and there will be no new updates. It’s also very hostile to the free users, so unless you’re planning to upgrade to one of their plans you should skip this one right away. They are one of the few cloud storages that offer unlimited storage for a decent price. However, there are so many problems that you will probably run into, which makes this cloud storage quite bad when compared to others.

Yandex.Disk Review

Yandex.Disk Review

Yandex.Disk or shall we call it, the Russian Google is one of the cloud storage options you can pick from. It’s decent cloud storage which competes with the western companies quite well. Yandex Disk pricing & plans come into the mid-class when compared with other cloud storages. It certainly lacks in many areas such as the missing sharing options, unknown security and very limited support. But if you ignore that and want cloud storage that isn’t accessible to the U.S. government agencies you’ve come to the right place. Otherwise, don’t stop here and check our Top 10 Cloud Storage Providers list.

Microsoft OneDrive Review

OneDrive Review

It is a Microsoft product which reflects on its quality. As a result, they have a range of plans that you can pick from with somewhat decent prices. It’s especially suitable for students and teachers since you get your own Office and 1 TB of storage for free. In addition to that, it’s easy to use and includes many integrated programs such as Word, Powerpoint, etc. File sharing is a bit limited though. It feels like proper cloud storage to use, but it could be better by a margin if they only tweaked and improved some of its features. Their security and privacy have also been overshadowed by better cloud storages that utilize client-side encryption and zero-knowledge privacy.

MediaFire Review

MediaFire Review

MediaFire Online Cloud Storage has 150 million users registered in its database. They offer up to 50 GB of free storage and a cheap 1000 GB plan when compared to other cloud services. Despite being one of the more popular cloud services, they have a few flaws. The interface is easy to use. However, it feels a bit slow. Their mobile application is not that well made as there are no options to download files to your mobile. Online support is also very lacking. It feels like MediaFire is falling behind in time.

Mega Review

Mega Review

The service offers an excellent 15 GB free program for its users. If you wish to get more, you’ll have to upgrade. Their plans are a bit different since they come with a bandwidth limit. Apart from that, they have a very modern and responsive client. Download and upload speeds are slow at peak hours, and the sync&sharing feature is decent with some negative aspects. They also offer browser extensions, direct FTP access, secure chat and a very well made mobile app for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. Online support is limited to e-mails and poor FAQ base. Their security is where it needs to be with client-side encryption. Overall a very viable pick, but there are better options out there.
