pCloud Lifetime Deal 2023

pCloud Lifetime Deal

pCloud Lifetime Deal 2023

pCloud Lifetime Deal: pCloud is willing to offer you lifetime cloud storage for a one-time payment. This is something that not many cloud storages offer, in fact, pCloud is one of the very few!

pCloud is a Swiss company that was founded with the purpose of providing cloud storage to personal users and businesses across the globe. It has come far since that point and currently has 10.000.000+ users who actively use pCloud as their primary cloud service. They have various plans that you can take, but three of them stand out. These are, of course, the lifetime plans. 2 of them are meant for personal users while the third one focuses on families which does come in useful if you plan to share your cloud storage with a few people.

One downside of owning a cloud storage is the monthly payment. In the case of buying a hard drive, you only have to pay once, and that’s it. The same doesn’t go for cloud storage. You have to pay monthly fees to enjoy the benefits of having your data stored online. Well, pCloud changed that. You get lifetime cloud storage for a one-time payment. That’s kind of cool if you ask me!

pCloud Lifetime Deal – Is It Worth A Shot?

pCloud has in the past years established itself as a brand that we can trust. With the 10.000.000+ users it certainly doesn’t look like they’re going to sink any time soon. In fact, TechCrunch recently reported that the company became profitable with a team of 32 fully employed people (also twitted by pCloud). The cloud storage race online is certainly very competitive and you need a certain level of skill to achieve what pCloud achieved.

And the only way you can compete with big animals like Dropbox and Google Drive is to provide something unique and something of quality.

pCloud – Short Review

pCloud is very easy to use, just like Dropbox. You can access the files you have stored on their servers via the website or with their applications that are available on all major platforms – Windows, Mac and Linux. All the files are stored in the cloud and as such save your local storage space.

Sharing your files is also an easy task and can be done via 3 ways:

  1. Invite to a folder – This allows your friends to view and modify the files as if they were their own.
  2. Share upload link – People will be able to upload files to your folder through the link that you have sent to them.
  3. Share download link – People will be able to view and download anything from the folder.

The links also come in with a set of their own perks such as link stats, password protection, expiry date, branding,…

When it comes to comparing security and privacy at pCloud with cloud services like Dropbox and Google Drive it is without a doubt better. pCloud Crypto enables client-side encryption which means that nobody but you has access to these files (zero-knowledge privacy). That is achieved by storing the encryption keys directly on your side and not on the servers. This, of course, protects you from any hacking attempts or any government interventions.

They even challenged the universities to try and break their encryption and offered a $100.000 reward for it. Nobody managed to pass it.

pCloud Lifetime – The Math

Going with pCloud Lifetime without a doubt saves you money. Let’s look at the math behind that statement. If you go for the pCloud Lifetime 500GB you will receive 500 GB of storage for $199.00. They also offer the Premium plan which costs $4.99 monthly.

$4.99 x 40 months = $199.60

That means that you will start seeing some savings after about 3 years of using pCloud. In 4 years you will save up $40 and $160 in 6 years.

If you go for the pCloud Lifetime 2TB you will receive 2000 GB of storage for $399. They have an equal plan called Premium Plus which costs $9.99 monthly.

$9.99 x 40 months = $399.60

After about 3 years, you’ll basically have a free 2 TB cloud storage.  In 4 years you’ll save up $80 and another $120 every year afterwards.

pCloud Lifetime Deal Risk

Is Grabbing This Offer Risky?

I am sure a lot of you including myself would be questioning how safe this investment is. After all, we see big companies falling apart and nobody really knows what will happen in 10 years. I will just try to give you my impression on pCloud here. I’ve reviewed many cloud storages and none as of yet managed to beat pCloud. pCloud is one of the best cloud storages and there’s no sign of this company going underground. They’re rapidly increasing their user base and have received millions of users in the past years. They’re also a company that listens to its users and tries to implement whatever it is we need.

pCloud has great security, fast down/upload speeds, it’s easy to use and has great support.

If I am sure about anything or was ever sure about anything is that pCloud will only progress in the future. Even if in some crazy scenario pCloud manages to die in 5 years you’ll still end up saving money with this offer. Although I am certain that will not happen.

Long-term Thinking

Cloud service, in general, will only expand in the future. It’s something that has already expanded a lot in the past 10 years. It’s being used by personal users and companies all over the world. If you would like to see the benefits and have doubts about owning cloud storage check out this article.

pCloud Lifetime Deal Conclusion

pCloud went for this option and is now accepting new users for their lifetime plans. But it is important to note that the cloud storage market fluctuates quite a bit in terms of pricing plans. As the company assesses their options based on community feedback and the numbers they’re getting in it’s likely that the plans will change at some point. That is why I can’t guarantee that the pCloud Lifetime deal will stay there. If you are thinking about getting it feel free to read my full review of pCloud. It should help you clear up any questions you might have about the service.

There are of course quite a few valid concerns one might have about committing themselves to a cloud storage for “a lifetime”. After all, $175.00 or $350.00 isn’t a small amount of money. What if the company is sold? What if the cloud storage market completely changes? What if… We could probably think of 20 more things that could happen during the course of the next 5 years. But let’s face it, something drastic would have to happen to really endanger your investment into cloud storage at pCloud. And based on all the factors, it is my opinion that pCloud is here to stay for good. That is why I can safely encourage you to take one of the pCloud Lifetime deals. It will help you relax quite a bit in regards to the safety of your files. And you won’t have to pay anything monthly or yearly anymore. pCloud lifetime plans also landed on my best lifetime cloud storage plans article.

  1. The pCloud Lifetime deal is super appealing and I was hesitating at first.
Just used a Monthly subscription to give it a try and get familiar with the Service.
I am now using 10TB Lifetime after their Black Friday deal in 2022 and could not be happier than I am.

Files are easily managed, share links work like wonder… I can send anything I want to whoever I want.
They also have a Virtual Drive which saves a lot of space and time on my device. Basically, I don’t even know how I have managed to operate with important files for years… I must have been living under a rock. I am grateful for pCloud having great community management as well.

  2. Thanks for sharing the information. I never store sensitive files on the cloud unencrypted, even though it might look safe. As companies can access those files. In order to avoid it, I’ve chosen encryption – before uploading to cloud if needed. For this matter, I downloaded Nordlocker tool for free. I like it because I can encrypt all the files locally and have them on my pc, also I can access them even offline.

    1. Hi,

You can always use a third- party encryption service, like Cryptomator and upload your data within the server- side encrypted space. Ultimately, to ensure unbreakable protection, the pCloud Crypto Folder is the way to go.

      Best regards,
      REP

  3. I noticed the article mentions link traffic. Is that 500GB download link traffic for the lifetime of the subscription or for each individual file link? Does this mean if I have people download 500GB of files shared via a link then I won’t be able to share additional files via links?

  4. I’ve never seen any cloud storage with lifetime plans, I’ve always paid monthly or annually.  Thanks for posting this review, I never would have even known pCloud existed without it.

This is a very good deal.  I’m now going to be looking at transferring over some of my cloud storage needs to pCloud.

  5. Hi Dejan,

Now, you have given me a dilemma. As I read through your website trying to find the best cloud storage, I keep finding different options each one better than the last!!

pCloud sounds fantastic and I really like the idea of a lifetime plan. My issue is that they seem to only offer a maximum of 2TB. I am needing more like 5TB. Does pCloud offer a business package or is it just personal storage?

    Many thanks,

    Tony

  6. pCloud looks like a pretty solid product and so I appreciate your recommendation here. When storing data it’s important to find a company that you can rely on, and it looks like pCloud delivers in that regard. With pCloud I like that it allows for a large amount of storage at a reasonable price. Also I like that it offers unlimited speeds and file sizes and that it has client-side encryption. As one who sends a lot of data out this is really important. If I were to get this product I would probably upgrade from the free-product right away, so the downside is not so concerning. I will definitely follow your link to check out pCloud further and I thank you for a great recommendation!

  7. Hmmm. My mind is now divided between Sync.com and pCloud. Your reviews are very detailed. This lifetime plan here is a good catch. If I would go for a plan, it certainly will be the Lifetime Plan. Just like you pointed out, a lot could happen in space in some years down the line. This is like owning a property. No fear of an increase in rent as a result of inflation or anything.

I just hope they won’t erase this plan after some time. It is very catchy.

  8. Originally, I thought that it is best to go for the service that’s associated with big names like Google or Microsoft thinking these companies won’t go under. But come to think that Google Plus went under even if the parent company, Google, is a very stable company.

So, today, I have this paradigm shift of instead of putting my trust in services like One Drive or Google Drive, two services that are owned by these blue-chip companies, I realized they’re not immune to failure, too. Anytime, the big companies may decide to retire them just like what they did to Google Plus.

So, you’re right in choosing pCloud as Swiss companies are known for their longevity. Just think of the banking institutions they operate, they have stood the test of time in offshore wealth storage for their clients abroad.

  9. Another cloud storage company I hadn’t heard of before… I guess I’ve been living under a rock haha. pCloud is Swiss, does that mean their servers are in Switzerland? I’m wondering if they operate like a Swiss bank or just Swiss company if you know what I mean about privacy and security with your data in the cloud. The lifetime purchase is very appealing, going to have to look into pCloud further for my next cloud storage purchase. Thank you.

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello,

pCloud has their servers situated within the U.S. Their headquarters are based in Switzerland though. If you’re worried about government interventions you should consider their Crypto plan which enables client-side encryption. That means nobody but you will have access to your files.

      Dejan

  10. Hello Dejan, pCloud seem like a really big idea to be looking at its lifetime plan. Saving data in the cloud have been one trusted means of storage I have seen. Although there has been some glitch which I have experienced when using another storage system, I hope it doesn’t apply to pCloud as well. Also, there’s plenty of hackers today on the internet, how good is the security system?

  11. Cloud storage system has been going on around the internet for online businesses and even companies to have a better means to a data storage system and it is one of the best means of storing data I have seen in recent times. I have read reviews on a number of sites who offer this service, but this offer is one of the best I have seen so far. A lifetime storage plan would save the user a lot of money and the storage space accorded for the few is reasonable. Nice review.

  12. These deals are great and for anyone who deals in massive data storage and all, they would all found pCloud to be a worthy investment. But I have some questions about the lifetime offers. firstly, how many years does the lifetime offers? Should there be a hacking on the platform, what are the security measures put into place to protect our data? lastly, Is there a way to change the lifetime plan earlier subscribed for if there is need to store more data?

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Rodarrick,

pCloud has defined the lifetime plans at 99 years or the lifespan of a person, whichever is shorter. pCloud as a platform has never been hacked and it is my opinion that it will continue to stay that way. Their Crypto plan is something you should go for to be extra safe due to the client-side encryption it offers. pCloud currently offers the lifetime plans that it does. You’re not able to upgrade to more cloud storage at the present time. But if they decide to implement larger plans in the future they will allow existing lifetime users to upgrade for a cheaper price in my opinion. Though that’s just my opinion and not something you should rely on.

      Dejan

  13. Hello Dejan, the offer presented here by pCloud is very massive and I am sure that very many people would agree with me that they are all worth the pricing but I am more concerned about the security for my files and I wish to inquire the tendency of my stored information to be hacked or breached. Is there a possibility of that happening? And if there is, is there a provision for a way to retrieve the breached information? Since the information that would be stored would be cogent and massive.

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Ramos,

pCloud invited a number of universities to try and breach their encryption and nobody managed to do it yet in the past 5 years. That’s the advantage of client-side encryption and that is what you get with pCloud Crypto. If you want guaranteed privacy and security you won’t go wrong with their Crypto plan. Of course, nothing is 100% safe but this is one of the cloud storage options where your files are as secure as it gets.

      Dejan

  14. The lifetime deal is cool and I like the storage spaces it offers, I believe the pricing is also okay compared to fixing to pay for monthly storage plan. I’ve been using pCloud for a while now and I can say it’s by far the best I know of, this is because of its security and the simplicity it offers which makes it very easy to use. Before I give pCloud Lifetime a shot do you know if there are any other cloud storages that offer lifetime plans?

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hey,

To my knowledge, there’s only one more cloud storage that offers lifetime plans and it is very new on the market – Icedrive.

  15. A lifetime storage deal is one amazing thing that’s not common to most cloud storage, this feature has made me love pCloud in a big way. It’s true that paying for monthly storage service can be so annoying and so the lifetime deal is more than suitable. I went with pCloud Lifetime Family since I share the cloud storage space with two of my family members about a month ago. So far, I am very happy with my choice. Do you reckon it’s worth taking pCloud Crypto as well? We store delicate documents online as well.

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello,

pCloud Crypto enables client-side encryption which means that nobody but you has access to these files. From a safety and privacy aspect that’s a very desirable feature to have. As such I would recommend using it if you’re uploading delicate files online. Encrypting the files locally yourself before uploading them can become a real hassle.

      Dejan

  16. The company profile of over 10M users says a lot about the company. I like that pCloud has the share feature. I know one time payment for storage is something I would do. I would rather have it done once and forget about it The over 10M users I feel guaranteed that my data is there to stay.Thank you for this detailed review..

  17. Hello, Dejan, this is an interesting read. I have to admit though that I have not heard of pCloud.

I have heard of other cloud services like what Google offers for pictures but nothing like this and on such a grand scale.

For me, I don’t really see the need (at the moment) for a service like this. I do, however like the idea of a “One-time payment for life” and it seems pretty reasonable as well.

The only question I might have would be, with over 7,000,000 users now, how are they able to store so much information and keep it safe? No security system, to my knowledge, is 100% safe. Hackers have broken into many of the biggest companies and stolen information and it seems to happen on a pretty regular basis. What would make pCloud any different than these mega-companies?

In spite of my concerns, I still think something like this could be useful in the years to come and it’s nice to know that this service is available when someone needs it.

    Wayne

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Wayne,

As you’ve said nothing is certain but death and taxes in this world ;). However, pCloud and it’s Crypto plan offers a level of security and privacy that’s hard to beat. Yes, there are loops here and there that people can abuse if the person using the cloud is careless about it and exposes himself via his actions. However, if you handle your data responsibly and make sure it’s client-side encrypted there’s no fear that anyone would be able to steal it.

  18. Hi Dejan,

This is a highly convincing article.

It is a huge amount of data storage capability that one would not be physically able to use in a lifetime.

I think cloud storage would be virtually free to everyone or at a really minimal cost. I carry a lot of storage in my hard drive at this point but looking around for cloud if I need to add in a few years.

I have one clarification to get here though. It is about customer support. Cons – pCloud does not have a phone or Live Chat support. But in a subsequent section, it has great support. I am a bit confused.

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello,

The support they offer in terms of FAQ page and 24/7 email contact is in my opinion great but I understand that many prefer the option to contact them directly via a call or live chat.

  19. The idea of saving ones data on the cloud is really cool. Considering so many threat that can face ones data that is stored in our laptops and flashdrives, this is certainly a great idea everyone should buy. Looking at the monthly payment on this system, after saving in the cloud and I don’t pay for a particular month till the next, would I lose my already stored data?  Or I’ll only be denied access to it when I do not pay for a particular month?

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Dane,

Here’s a quote from the pCloud website in regards to your question:

“You get a 5-day grace period. When it expires, your account will turn into Basic. In other words, your space will be downgraded to the currently available for free.

Any files beyond this free quota will remain in your account for 30 days. After that, files exceeding your account storage space will be moved to the Trash on a random basis. The deleted files will be kept in the Trash for another 15 days. During this time, you will be able to upgrade your plan and retrieve the files.”

  20. Hello Dejan

Performing a search on the internet, I discovered your site and I am surprised with the pCloud company. I am online many hours daily and have heard many times talk about cloud storage.

I dedicate myself to foreign trade I have a site where I seek to contact potential clients. I ask if I could have my site hosted in the cloud could it give me greater security?

It has happened to me years ago that I have lost a site because I have malicious code, this has left me very worried. Thanks for your help!

    Greetings! Claudio

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Claudio,

Your website can hardly be hosted in the cloud / it’s already hosted on your providers’ servers which is similar. However, you can utilize cloud storage to backup your website regularly. That would increase your security and help you sleep better at night.

  21. I like the freedom they offer that someone else can manage the accounts but I would like to know how secured my information and private files are and if possible that the storage option could be hacked into or breached. pCloud lifetime special mega offer is very cool and I would definiteltmy love to partake since the offers are massive. I would be glad to read your replies soon. Thanks

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Tracy,

You can read all about security and privacy that pCloud offers in my full review of their service here. It’s certainly one of the safer options to go with in the cloud storage business.

  22. Good and informative review about pCloud and its lifetime special offer. This looks as good as sync.com maybe even little better from my view cause this supports practically all operating systems. If I remember right sync.com doesn’t support iOs or Linux? However, I pretty much agree with what you said about possible risks to invest lifetime offer; basically everything has risks, even your bank may (not highly likely) collapse and people lose their money. But as you said, these leading companies in one of the most growing and developing sectors of the markets will just get eventually better I would say. I also agree IF it would collapse after 10 years, you would still save lots of money when monitoring long-term. Third, if you invest in an all-in-one-cloud service five years later, its price may be higher. However, thanks for a good review once again!

  23. I have been a user of PCloud for the last 2 years and their platform has performed flawlessly. I initially went to them because their main competitor has priced themselves way out of what is available in the market and I just could not see paying twice as much.

The first year I paid $97 for 2TB of storage and the second again I paid that amount. No problems with payment, no problems with the service, and support was there for the few questions I had within a reasonable timeframe and they took care of the issues quickly.

The lifetime prices are reasonable if you think long-term. The 500 GB would not be enough storage for my needs, but the lifetime plan for me would start paying at the third year. Since I am sure I will be using them going forward, and we are a company that can use this amount of storage (or more) I am considering the larger plan.

I think this is a good offer and PCloud is reliable and cheaper than the competition. How do they stack up against Amazon Cloud Storage? Are they cheaper? I have not checked but this was one service I also wanted to check out, as our storage needs keep growing as our business grows. Thanks for the good review!

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Dave,

Thanks for sharing your experience with pCloud. I have reviewed the Amazon cloud drive here. 2TB of storage costs about 20$ more per year at Amazon though they don’t offer any lifetime plans if that is what you wanted to go with. But the difference is much bigger in terms of features. Amazon simply falls short in almost every area (see the Amazon review for all the details). I would advise you to stick to your guns and continue with pCloud.

  24. 3 years from now, everyone will be using cloud services and they should be as cheap as $99 store items. No point to limit yourself in a 2TB for life when it will drop in price and increase in capacity. 3 years ago, no one image google offer FREE photo storage for the whole world, same with the storage.

  25. It’s kind of hard for me to let go of my external hard drive. I have 2 TB there already. But I also don’t want to get behind with technology.

$350 sounds a bit much for me to pay all at once, but I do understand the security features you explain in some of your other comments.

Except for being able to retrieve my data without any kind of external connection, what other advantages does pCloud / cloud storage provide over the external hard drive?

I will be waiting for your answer. Thanks.

  26. Hey, appreciate the information on pCloud’s Lifetime Special nd Mega Offer. I actually like the idea of someone else handling the physical space of storage as opposed to an external hard drive cluttering up my desk. I may worry about security though. Do they ensure that the files you store are secure and maybe even encrypted? Thanks again for sharing!

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hey,

If you go with their Crypto clan your files get encrypted client-side which means nobody has access to them.

      Dejan

  27. Hello Dejan,

This is a great page – thank you. My one concern with starting using pCloud is the following comment left on another website as a con for pCloud (as opposed to a pro). They wrote, “CON pCloud will delete all your data if you Hard Reboot your phone. Do not do a hard reboot on your cell phone while using pCloud.. After you do a hard reboot and sign back in to what was your account will now be empty, with the contents deleted. Your Data will be gone. pCloud will does not inform users about it.”

I’d be grateful if you could let me know your advice about this please. It sounds worrying…

  28. Hey I have been thinking about getting more storage. I think it is so cool that they are offering their deals at one payment only! I don’t think I would ever be able to use 2 TB in a lifetime lol. It would be better for me to get the 500 GB if anything. Do you think that they will offer more options in the near future?

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Kendrick,

That’s an interesting question. One can only assume that as time moves forward hard drives and price per GB will only decrease over time. Who knows what data limits cloud storage providers will offer in 20 years. But if we’re looking at the short-term picture I think they will stay with what they offer now or maybe make slight increases over the next years.

      Dejan

  29. Interesting and objective review of the pCloud services. As a user of cloud services for many years, I personally did not find something outstanding… But the post is very convincing and I am planning to try it. From my perspective, the payment is not an issue… I believe that company does not want to deal with monthly payments – it is a real hassle. But the list of technical advantages provided can trigger the interest. Yes, it is hard to predict what changes in storage services we’ll have next 10 years, so it is better to use what is the best in the market today. Thank you for sharing information.

    1. Dejan Miladinović Administrator

      Hello Nadja,

Make sure to check the full review of pCloud if you wish to know more. This was just a short introduction of their Lifetime feature. Let me know if you have any questions.

      Dejan

    1. Hello,
Well, the crypto plan is also separated in their monthly and yearly plans. It’s a decision that they made and I agree that it would be nice to have it included within the regular plans.
      Dejan

  30. Marios Tofarides

    Hi, Dejan!
I consider the Special offer not suitable for me. I think that 500GB is too little, considering today’s (and future) storage needs. The Mega Offer is better, but how does this compare with Dropbox, Google or Microsoft offers?

Also, Do the mobile apps offer photo and video backup?

    Thanks!

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Marios,

None of the cloud storages above actually offer a lifetime offer, which is also why pCloud is unique in a way. If you would like to compare these cloud storages just have a look at this: Top 10 Cloud Storage Providers 2017.

I’ve done reviews on all of the listed cloud storages. Hopefully, you’ll find them useful. Let me know if you have any questions!

  31. Mitchell Balker

    Hello Dejan,

Thank you for this awesome article on cloud storage.

I have a really big data base because I’m working on so many things so 2017 is the year that I started with Dropbox and Google photo and I really love it. I’m a newbie in this industry but man the online storages helped me already so much.

Like I said I am a real newbie in this industry so I have a question for you: I use online storages myself since this year, but let say I would go for Pcloud would you still recommend me to have a hard disk for backup? because you never know what might happen.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mitchell

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Mitchell,

The whole point of having data stored in the cloud is to get rid of your hard drive and to be able to access it at all times from wherever you are. I personally trust pCloud due to their redundancy systems which guarantee that your files won’t get lost, overwritten or damaged in any way.

It’s up to your own preference really. If it makes you sleep easier at night, keep a hard drive. Otherwise I would say it’s not needed.

  32. pCloud seems like a very nice option when it comes to online storage. This review has helped me know there’s such a product which is so beneficial. The technology is now changing from hard disks to cloud storages which is far much better and without limitations. I’ve lost many documents on flash disks in the past after they crush or they get lost and I’ve been looking for an option.

I think this cost is not on the higher side compared with the service one gets from this product. Just one concern though. What is the guarantee of security of my files in pCloud? How am I sure that the founders won’t have access to my private information stored in pCloud?

      Hello pmbaluka,

The security that is implemented within pCloud is one of the best in the cloud storage world. If you get their pCloud Crypto plan it means nobody will have access to your files, even the pCloud administrators. They’re using client-side encryption within pCloud Crypto plan which means that every crypto key that is generated for your files isn’t stored with them, but with you. That means only you can access your files. They have also given a challenge to the hackers of the world for $100.000 to break their encryption and nobody managed to do it in a 6 month period. Many world-renown universities participated in that challenge as well.

I myself have no issue with trusting them my files. They take care of them on privacy and mechanical level with good redundancy system.

  33. Hi Dejan

Thanks for letting us know about pCloud, I have been using Onedrive for a while now and it integrates quite well with my windows 10 machines but with a lot of the revelations coming out about data security I’ve become more concerned about using US companies for my cloud storage.
Are there any privacy benefits to using a Swiss company compared to a US one?

    Thanks Again

    Dom

      Hello Dominic,

Well, it depends on the cloud service. pCloud is very strict regarding your privacy, especially if you pick the pCloud Crypto plan which encrypts your data clien-side meaning nobody but you will be able to access those files. Let me know if you have any questions.

  34. Hi Dejan, thank you for your article. I am an avid believer in cloud storage and been using the free versions of Google Drive and Dropbox. Its time for me to shop for a paid version and am thinking of going with Google Drive. Can you do a short comparison between pCloud and GDrive? You also mentioned in your article that it doesn;t use local hard drive space (under the Pros section). Does that mean all the files are just located online? How can I access the files on pCloud if I am not connected? Thank you in advance for your response!

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Steven,

Well the main few differences that I see between pCloud and Google Drive are privacy, security, way of storing data and usability. pCloud’s Crypto plan garuntees client-side encryption which means nobody but you is able to access your files. That’s not the case with Google Drive. pCloud also saves all of your data online and doesn’t use up local hard drive space. Regarding your question – You can decide which folders you want available to you offline as well and they will be. Google Drive’s one quality is the connection between all the services and the usage of google documents. I would suggest you take a look at both of the reviews and decide which one suits you best.

  35. I guess the time is fast approaching when I have to learn about cloud storage; especially after reading some of the comments by readers, this has been a back to back experience being introduced to cloud storage and this one seems attractive especially the life time membership. My technical skills are still limited but my interest is growing.

How hard is it to use pCloud if you’re new to cloud storage? Do you have any posts that explain how cloud storage works?

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Courtney,

Cloud storage is indeed gaining on its popularity and new things always catch up to everyone. It’s up to you to decide to follow them or stick to the proven methods.

pCloud as a cloud storage is very easy to use. Once you install it you will use it like any other hard drive in your computer with the help of the virtual drive.

I do have a few posts explaining what are the features of the cloud. You can check them out by clicking on the following links:

  36. Until now, I hadn’t really considered buying a cloud based storage service, but pCloud sounds like a great deal. I’m all about one-time payments over monthly. Also, we’ve experienced losing tons of precious pictures and videos when one of our external hard drives was destroyed. It’s an awful feeling! I think the peace of mind with a cloud based system would be great.

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Ryan,

Well, I think we all experience that at some point. I had the same thing happening to me. The whole picture collection of my childhood was stored on my internal drive and the drive got corrupted. That was one awful feeling. Fortunately, when I brought it to the computer shop they managed to extract all the data from it so I didn’t lose anything. That was a relief…

pCloud is definitely a secure cloud storage, with your data being saved on 15 different racks or servers. You should check it out. And this special lifetime offer that they have is pretty amazing too.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  37. Hi Dejan,
What’s the difference between ICloud storage and pcloud storage? I have taken a lot of pictures. I am looking for somewhere safe online to store my pictures. Which one would you recommend? Is one more costly than the other? Does pcloud have a monthly fee or just a one time fee?
    Thank you,
    Caryn

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Caryn,

iCloud is a very basic cloud storage and when compared with other cloud storages, it fails to deliver on many areas. I would only be using iCloud in case I would be really entrenched in Apple’s ecosystem.

pCloud is cheaper then iCloud and offers more sharing, file retrieving options with a better security system.

With pCloud you can either go with a one time payment which was described above and gives you lifetime storage or you can choose to pay monthly or yearly(20% discount). Check out the full review of pCloud here.

I would definitely pick pCloud over iCloud.

Hopefully that helps you out and if you have any questions I am here to help.

  38. Thanks for introducing this service. I have never heard of pCloud but from your post they seem to be reputable company and the service seems like a bargain. Like you said I also have doubts about what happens if the company does close down. Even though I may be saving money already if I use it for more than a year, I guess it is also about the data security and if so I will still need to have a backup copy on a different server or locally.

    1. Dejan Administrator

      Hello Daniel,

I do believe that your files are safe with pCloud. They are protected from unautharized access by client-side encryption and with a redundancy system against hardware failure. That means your files are being backed up multiple times on their servers. If you would like to know more about the security of pCloud check out the full review – Review.

      Thanks for stopping by.
